  • How I balance being a Creative Director at Talent Farm Africa media hub (TAFA), a Final Year Thesis student and a Filmmaker.

As a young woman at the helm of creative direction at TAFA, I have found myself juggling multiple responsibilities and challenges in the pursuit of excellence. The last week, in particular, was a hectic one with the intern training program, where I had to lead my team to help the interns adapt, learn, and create unique content in their respective fields. It was a fulfilling but demanding experience that required a lot of patience and focus.

On the other hand, I am also a final year thesis student, and the pressure to deliver a high-quality project that reflects my academic excellence can be overwhelming. I have found myself staying up late, researching, writing, and editing my work, all while trying to stay on top of my TAFA duties.

And then there's my passion for filmmaking, which I've always wanted to pursue. The drive to tell captivating stories through visuals, sound, and words is what fuels me, and I've had to find a way to balance it all while staying true to my dreams.

But despite the challenges, I wouldn't have it any other way. Being a creative director, a student, and a filmmaker all at once keeps me on my toes and keeps me pushing towards my goals. It's been a journey filled with ups and downs, but I've learned to embrace the process, trust my instincts, and know that everything will fall into place in due time.

So here I am, balancing the demands of being a creative director, a student, and a filmmaker, all while striving for excellence in each of these roles. It's not an easy feat, but the reward of being able to live my dreams and make an impact in the media industry is worth all the struggles.

  • Wondering what path to take on now that going solo seems to be in the books for me.... This journey of mine seems filled with hurdles and a constant wave of disappointment. But the period thrill I feel from achieving something most thought impossible makes it all the more worthy.
